Metro 2033 montage shows proper gameplay

Digital Foundry's posted some Metro 2033 gameplay footage, showing off some of the shooter's action sequences as well as general environments. It's shaping up, to say the least.

The underground - and slightly overground - FPS is based on Dmitri Glukhovsky's post-apocalyptic novel, and sets itself up as an immersive, HUD-free affair.

We saw this running at THQ's offices in the UK this week, and are pleased to announce that it's definitely "not shit".

Set after the bomb, the story follows a subterranean dweller on a voyage of discovery against some nasty mutant types. It's certainly very pretty, comes with no online play and focusses solely on story.

DF's also got up a load of tech gumph on the game's engine here.

We grabbed 20 minutes with THQ and Dmitri in London this week, so watch out for news from that in the coming days.

The game's out for 360 and PC on March 19. One to watch.
