Metal Gear Solid fan releases English dub of the 1998 radio drama

Metal Gear Solid fan Josh Griffiths has released an English dub of the radio drama Konami broadcast in 1998.

The 12-part broadcast was a non-cannon spin-off of the Metal Gear Solid series and directed by Metal Gear Solid 4 co-director Shuyo Murata. It was written by series military adviser Motosada Mori. It also contained the game's cast, including David Hayter.

According to Eurogamer, the story depicts an alternate history in which Snake and his comrades still work for the US government after the Shadow Moses incident.

Released on CD in Japan after the broadcast concluded, the drama never made its way west. At present Griffiths only has Part One: Rescue & Recon translated. He plans to dub the remaining 11 episodes.

Obviously, the the dubbed version is devoid of the original game's cast; however, it's still worth a listen. Cliff Thompson provides the voice of Solid Snake; Jimmy Cooper plays Colonel Campbell; Kristyn Mass stars as Meryl Silverbergh; Stig Sydtangen is the Pilot; Chris20855 plays the Co-Pilot and Josh Griffiths provides his voice for the Air Controller. It also guest stars YongYea as Sergeant Allen Iishiba.

Along with being available on YouTube, you can also hit it up on Soundcloud.
