Metal Gear Solid 5 branded Sony Walkman on offer in Japan costs over $1,000

Remember the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker branded Sony Walkman from 2010? Maybe you don't. Anyway, there is one coming to Japan.

According to Siliconera, Sony will also be offering MGS5 branded tablets and smartphones

The limited edition Walkman ZX series NW-ZX2 features the Outer Heaven logo on the back, has 128 GB of storage, comes with a booklet, a leather case featuring the Outer Heaven, ten tracks from the game, the “!” sound effect, and four wallpapers. It will cost ¥140,000 ($1,128).

From what we gathered, it's a standard price for the model - depending on the marketplace. Still, that's a lot of money for an MP3 player if you're just a normal Joe.

There's also the more reasonably priced Walkman A series NW-A16 version, which has 32GB of storage and two songs from the soundtrack for ¥28,000 ($229).

Two Metal Gear Solid 5 tablets are also on offer along with a J1 Compact phone.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will release simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One September 1 and pre-orders on Steam net Ground Zeroes for free.

Metal Gear Online will release October 6 on consoles, and on PC to January 2016.
