Mega Man Online cancelled, art leaks online - report

Mega Man Online has been canned by Capcom according to leaks from the game's lead artist Kang Dong. Dong has also revealed several pieces of environment art into the wild. Pinches of salt at the ready, people.

Mega Man fan site The Mega Man Network reports that Dong's leaked art suggests that the game has been cancelled, as the leak would presumably cross certain legal boundaries otherwise.

Called Rockman Online in Japan, the game was a joint venture between Capcom and NeoWiz and was to focus on the return of the Maverick threat, long after the events of the Mega Man X series.

Neither party has stepped forward to confirm the game's cancellation, although it has been over a year and a half since we last heard anything about it. However, treat this purely as rumour until then.

Check out Dong's leaked art below:

Thanks GAF.
