Mass Effect is getting its own theme park ride

As detailed by Fortune, the promised Mass Effect "4D Experience" is almost upon us.

The Mass Effect: New Earth 4D theater experience is coming to California's Great America, in Santa Clara. It's due to open in mid-May. It will feature a 60-foot 3D LED screen designed specifically for the experience.

Unreal Engine 4 has been used in the production of the visuals that the ride will utilise. The goal is to create an experience that will not make participants feel sick. It's also meant to bridge the narrative gap between the Mass Effect trilogy and the next game in the series, which seems like a fairly important function for a ride that the majority of players won't get the chance to experience.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, the next proper game in the Mass Effect series, is not due until 2017.
