Mass Effect 3 to contain cut Citadel content planned for the sequel

Bioware's Mac Walters, and lead writer for Mass Effect 3, has said to expect the Citadel to have a larger presence in the game than in Mass Effect 2. Speaking with OXM in the latest issue (via CVG), Walters said a plot thread featuring the Citadel which was cut from ME2 will be included in the third installment. "There was a Mass Effect 2 plot that was a kind of callback to the first Mass Effect that was going to be on the Citadel, and we cut it. But now it's made a resurrection in Mass Effect 3, so I'm happy, but I can't say what it is," he said. "That's the nice thing about trilogies, sometimes you get a second chance."

The latest issue of OXM hits newsstands tomorrow. Mass Effect 3 is out in early March.
