Mass Effect 3 face import bug patched this week

BioWare has detailed a Mass Effect 3 update due any moment, which includes a fix for the dreaded face import bug.

According to the patch notes, the PC version of the patch should be available right now, with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions due on April 10 - that's today where I'm sitting, but we'll probably have to wait for the US console network updates.

Although the patch fixes a number of bigs and issues, the most interesting one is a resolution to the face import problems which struck those bringing over a character from Mass Effect 1 and 2; players who committed to a customised Shepard through two games were understandably annoyed when they ended up with a very different looking Commander in Mass Effect 3.

The PC versions difficulties with DLC on shared computers have also been addressed, which is bad news for those of you illicitly enjoying your siblings' purchases.

Otherwise, it's mainly shutting down some nasty freezes and game breakers.

Thanks, Shack; also, Tim, for insisting I use his ugly Shepard picture not once but three times.
