Marvel’s Avengers hits PS5, Xbox Series X/S March 18 alongside Hawkeye DLC

Marvel’s Avengers will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X next month alongside the long-awaited Hawkeye DLC.

You can expect the new-gen release of Marvel's Avengers and the next DLC drop to occur on March 18.

Players who own the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version of the game can upgrade to the full next-gen version at no additional cost and transfer their save game to keep their progress. Upgrading from PlayStation 4 disc version will require PlayStation 5 console with a disc drive. Upgrading from Xbox One to the disc version requires an Xbox Series X console.

You will be able to choose between two different modes; one which prioritizes resolution, while another targets a 60fps frame rate. This was initially set to be released in 2020 but was bumped into 2021 in October.

On the same day, Clint Barton, known as Hawkeye, will bring his talents to the game’s roster as part of Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect. The DLC will be free to owners of the core game on all platforms.

In addition to a new playable character, the DLC features the next chapter in the game’s ongoing Avengers Initiative story and also introduces a new villain: Maestro. This is a version of Hulk with Bruce Banner’s brains and the Hulk’s strengths and abilities, now driven mad in an apocalyptic future.

A datamine from back in November suggests more heroes are apparently on the way, too, in the form of Black Panther, Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, Winter Soldier, War Machine, and more.
