Marvel's Avengers patches fix two of the beta's most annoying problems, and stuttering on PC

Marvel's Avengers has received a pair of patches in preparation for the third and final beta weekend.

As we get closer to the last Marvel's Avengers beta test - open to everyone on all platforms starting today, developer Crystal Dynamics rolled out a pair of updates to address some of the problems and annoyances players reported over the last two beta weekends.

Two in particular are worth highlighting here, because of how often they came up in discussions around the beta. All three platforms now have a slider to adjust camera shake sensitivity, which has been a constant point of contention among players, particular those who get easily motion sick.

The excessive motion blur has also been reduced, especially in fights and when characters sprint and fly. Another welcome addition is that the default camera distance has been changed to wide, with heavy targeting assistance and matchmaking disabled also becoming the standard options.

Across the board, there have been several tweaks to matchmaking, performance, and many crash fixes.

PC got a big share of tweaks to address the many, many complaints about the beta's performance. Fixes have been made to address constant stuttering and massive drops in framerate. Some of the graphical bugs that occurred when using SSR and turning off TAA have been fixed.

Most importantly, the Dynamic Screen Resolution feature, which is intended to dynamically drop/boost resolution to maintain a solid framerate should now actually work as intended. As PC players who tried out the beta will know, the feature did the opposite.
