Mario Galaxy 2 gameplay clips are genuinely awesome, cheerful

Gamespot has three gameplay clips of Super Mario Galaxy 2 from the Nintendo Media Summit in the US this past week. Get them after the break.

The first vid has Mario taking on a train-like space dragon. It also sees the plumber riding with Yoshi near the end.

The second sees the two taking on a giant mech before Mario runs about in a Super Mario Bros-like level.

And the last clip shows Mario and Yoshi running about for crystals and coins before Yoshi takes a hot pepper boost to get up a tree.

All three look genuinely awesome and fantastic. And awesome. Go give them a watch below.

The game's box-art was revealed this morning. It's a tad cheerful, innit.

SMG2 got confirmed dates of May 23 in the US and June 11 in Europe and the UK this week, with a new trailer and new screens released to celebrate the announcement.
