Video: Watch a man simulate flying using Oculus Rift

One of the the things humans love to simulate is flying, and using this contraption along with the Oculus Rift, one man has done just that.

The project is called Birdly and is created by a team at the institute for Design Research at the Zurich University of the Arts in association with the Swiss Association for the Protection of Birds, and it aims to simulate the act of flying from a bird's viewpoint. As you can see in the video, the team created this machine with the ability to flap your wings -sorry arms, complete with a fan blowing air to simulate the headwind and also dispense odors that correspond to the environment.

And you thought Dave's video this morning of a man riding a rollercoaster with the Rift was insane.

The team behind it also told Rift Arcade that they're organizing two exhibitions for the project in San Francisco and Vancouver later this summer, with no dates yet.

Thanks, Gamespot.
