Major League Gaming-developed FPS is "inevitable", says CEO

MLG CEO Sundance DiGiovanni has stated that the eSports group will create its own shooter "One day" and that it has already been approached by people on the matter.

In an interview with Penny Arcade Report, Sundance said that an MLG-developed shooter was "inevitable" and added, "One day we will. One day we will. Yeah. We’ve had people approach us about it.

"Right now we want to focus on partners with games like PlanetSide 2 and help them broaden out and take advantage of what we’ve built. But we can also take advantage of their understanding of the game mechanics. We’ve done this with folks at Bungie, with folks at Activision, we’ve done it with lots of studios. We’ve done that enough times to have the understanding to take to our own title, eventually."

On the nature of what an MLG title could involve, he added, "I don’t want to rush, I’d probably create an arena shooter and have people say I’m crazy. It’s not time for that. That time has passed, but who knows?”

Would you like to see MLG produce a game some day? What do you think it would it be like? Share your thoughts below.
