Major League Baseball streaming coming to PS3 in US

mlb

Sony is to announce a deal later today which sees Major League Baseball coming to PlayStation 3 owners in the US.

The report from the New York Times says sign-ups for it will be under way by the end of the week to allow people watch live MLB games.

"This is more than just a game console. This is a device that is redefining how content is being delivered to the living room," SVP for PSN Peter Dille said on the deal to NYT.

Currently, premium subs are required to watch baseball games in the US, with the highest being $120 if you register through the MLB website, while the cheapest is $100 for the most basic package.

Sony has its own MLB series for PlayStation 3 and PSP, known as MLB: The Show.
