Mafia 3 devs explain how to take down the criminal rackets of New Bordeaux

There are nine districts in the city, and each one has two criminal outfits running the joint.

All of the objectives and open-world activities in the game - including quests and missions - are linked to the narrative of the criminal racket.

Players will pick and choose which missions they wish to complete in order to do enough damage to the groups. Once enough damage has been done, the boss will be lured out of his hideout and the player will need to take him out.

In one instance, there is a construction racket in one part of the city. Lincoln can shakedown the foremen in order to gain access to more information. Once he has gained the knowledge he needs, more missions will be opened up in relation to that particular organization.

Each cell is protected by enforcers, so once these glorified body guards are eliminated, it will weaken the racket and cause it to run in a less organized manner. Players aren't forced to take the guys out, but they are a big part of the racket, so keep that in mind.

If the player chooses not to take the enforcers out? They will fall back into the hideout and make it that much harder to clear and get to the boss.

It sounds like and interesting take on enemies, as allowing them to live, will make your game exponentially harder.

More on Mafia 3 will be revealed next week at E3 2016, and 2K Games will have a large booth set up on the show floor for this game and others.
