Madden NFL 13 Ultimate Team expanded with Key packs

Madden NFL 13's Ultimate Team mode is a little different this year, thanks to the introduction of a new kind of card which can only be earned through in-game goals.

As detailed on the EA Sports blog, Key Packs can't be purchased through mcirotransactions, but are instead awarded when players complete a team collection or solo challenge sequence.

That said, you can trade them on the auction house, and as all are required to complete collections - which in turn reward you with even better cards - you can see s**t is about to get complicated up in here.

There will be 38 Key Pack cards in the initial release; one from each of the 32 teams and six unique legendary cards. EA Canada expects to release more throughout the year.

Madden NFL 13 is due on PlayStation 3, Vita, Wii and Xbox 360 on August 28 in the US and August 31 in Europe, with a Wii U launch to follow.

Thanks, Joystiq.
