Ray Rice pulled from Madden 15 roster after NFL suspension for domestic abuse

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will be removed from the Madden 15 roster this Friday by EA Sports.

Rice was indefinitely suspended by the NFL and dropped by the Baltimore Ravens after a video surfaced of him spitting in his wife's face, which caused her to slap at him, which resulted in Rice retaliating by punching her in the face - subsequently knocking her out cold.

The incident occurred in February while the couple were in an elevator of an Atlantic City hotel and casino.

Rice was suspended previously for two games after the first video released showed him dragging an unconscious Janay Palmer, his then-fiancée, out of an elevator. The surveillance video publicized on Monday showing Rice knocking Palmer out was the catalyst to the dragging incident previously shown.

Before Rice can play again in the NFL, any potential contract cannot be approved "without further direction from the commissioner," CNN was told by the NFL.
