LOTRO Update 5: The Prince of Rohan to launch December 12

Turbine has announced that Update 5: The Prince of Rohan for The Lord of the Rings Online will launch on December 12.

The Update continues the epic story and adds five new Isengard instances to the game. The developer has also released new screens depicting The Foundry instance, where players must destroy the weapons of soldiers under Saruman’s command.

The Foundry is a sprawling subterranean area beneath the Tower of Orthanc, which was built in the Second Age by the men of Gondor and once housed one of the palantíri of the South Kingdom. Long ago locked and the keys taken to Minas Tirith after Isengard fell to the Dunlendings, the tower is now inhabited by Saruman, who was handed the keys by Beren, the Steward of Gondor.

It is full of nasty goblins, wargs, Uruks and other foul things. Trust us. We had to serve orcs dinner a few times while imprisoned there. Thankfully, we escaped.

The Update will also include four other instances, Skirmish Mark consolidation, and the new Instance Finder - which will only drop you into random encounters until Update 6.

Check out the new screens below.
