Look at this awesome anime-style Destiny opening - it kind of sells the story better than Bungie does

What do Destiny and anime have in common? Both of them frequently make no sense but look good doing it.

Destiny is great. The basic shooting action is top notch, the outfits are excellent, raiding is sublime and everything else is only as hollow as every video game ever. Let's not go there; I only just got over my last depressive incident.

The setting is also great, but as even the most loving Destiny fan must acknowledge, Bungie hasn't done a great job of showing it off and telling its stories. Most Destiny players don't even know the basic plot of the game so far, let alone get nerdy about the excellent but deliberately obscured details of the background lore.

I often wonder whether the story of Destiny could be better told in another way - maybe even outside games. Now YouTuber PopeOwned has given us a hint of how it might look if Destiny were an anime series, complete with J-rock musical theme and all those fades of various characters against dramatic backgrounds.

Whether you like anime (and Destiny) or not, you must admit this is a well-edited and put together video. It really does nail that particular opening credits style, doesn't it?

I am reasonably certain that handing Destiny off to an anime studio would be amazing, but I also think disastrous explosions are amazing so nobody should take my recommendations seriously.
