The Binding of Isaac spin-off The Legend of Bum-bo gets a teaser trailer

The Legend of Bum-bo is a spin-off of The Binding of Isaac and it's coming to Mac, mobile and PC this year.

The Legend of Bum-bo is in the works for the aforementioned platforms, and a Switch version is planned for 2019.

Announced in 2016, The Legend of Bum-bo is a randomly generated, turn-based, puzzle RPG. Players will take on the role of Bum-bo from The Binding of Isaac.

Players will "punch the faces off paper goons and take their coins," before gambling them away at the casino.

"Most may notice Bum-bo seems to have a lot of ties to the Binding of Isaac," said co-creator Edmund McMillen. "I like to call it a prequel, but what I mean by that outside of the obvious themes inst something I can really explain without spoiling too much.

"But I can assure you if you enjoyed Isaac and also like turn-based combat and puzzle games, The Legend of Bum-bo should be right up your alley.

"The Legend of Bum-bo is being developed by myself and James id and once again features the musical stylings of Ridiculon."

Bum-bo will form pagan glyphs in match four puzzles which create both offensive and defensive attacks. He will also gain specific types of mana to cast spells ranging from "jagging stuff with a fish hook to summoning mom’s leg" to defeat enemies.

Every dungeon Bum-bo enters will be randomly generated with hoards of monsters, bosses, traps, puzzles and randomly chosen spells. This ensures each dungeon will be unique, and every successful play through will unlock more items, playable characters and more.
