Leaked Star Wars: Battlefront 2 video is our first look at planet Kamino, Palpatine gameplay

With the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 beta being minutes away from kicking off, we're getting more and more gameplay footage.

Some of this footage showed content everyone will have access to in the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 beta, such as this video showing the new Strike mode on Takodana.

This is what you're going to find online this week, alongside footage of the Assault on Theed, and the Starfighter Assault maps from E3 and gamescom. However, as part of the same trip to EA where content creators got some hands-on time with the beta, the group was also allowed to play and capture footage showing maps and heroes that are not in the beta.

For a brief few minutes, one of the creators invited to this event released his video ahead of time. The video has since been removed, but not before it was mirrored elsewhere.

The video from YouTuber RivalXFactor, which you can watch at the link, takes us to the planet Kamino from the prequel era. The video is around ten minutes-long, and features our first look at the new and improved Emperor Palpatine.

This is the first time we're seeing extended gameplay on Kamino, and it looks stunning. The squid-shaped Trident-class assault ship even shows up at one point, a really nice touch - even if it doesn't look playable.

What the video also reveals is that Iden Versio, the lead character in the game's campaign story mode, will be available at launch as part of the villains roster. After the full list of heroes was datamined from the closed alpha, many theorised that Versio would not remain loyal to the Empire, which would have honestly been a bit trite.

This doesn't necessarily mean she won't have a change of heart during the events of the story, but we can at least be sure which side she'll be on in multiplayer.

The video is well worth watching if you've already seen gameplay from what's available in the beta.
