League of Legends Season Two finals drew 8 million viewers

Riot Games has released a few statistics from its Season Two World Championships finals, which carried one of the largest prize pools in eSports history and attracted an equally staggering number of spectators.

In a news update, Riot thanked players and fans for tuning in and making the event such a grand success.

The finals live stream attracted 8,282,000 viewers, including 2,402,225 TV viewers in Korea and China. Putting aside Asian TV viewers, the stream alone peaked at 1,154,000 concurrent users.

Additionally, the event itself as at capacity with 10,000 attendess, of which more than 8,000 travelled in to attend.

All in all, the playoffs and finals clocked up 24,230,688 hours of viewing.
