League of Legends 2 isn't going to happen, but for a good reason

League of Legends 2 isn't going to be a thing, like, ever. Riot Games' environment artist Brent Critchfield has made that very clear in a new interview, but don't despair, it comes from a good place. Honest.

Speaking with Polygon at E3 2014, Critchfield said, “I want my great grandchildren playing this game," and added that Riot plans to add large, significant updates to the existing League of Legends to help it evolve with the times, rather than overhaul all of its work - which is clearly working, just look at the player numbers! - just to slap a number '2' on the end.

It makes sense, considering that 27 million play League of Legends every day, compared to 12 million a day in October 2012. (Cheers for that fact PCGamesN).

League of Legends won't be the only game Riot releases. That much is clear, but we've no idea what it'll do next.

What would you like to see out of the team? Something to do with big robots, guns or assassins? Nah, we've already got that in spades don't we?

Hmm...
