The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima and Hades lead BAFTA Game Awards 2021 nominations

The post-apocalyptic PS4 exclusive is up for more categories than any other game ever.

Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part 2 is leading the nominations for this year's BAFTA Game Awards.

The post-apocalyptic title is up for 13 of the show's 17 categories, the highest that a single game has been nominated for so far. Last year, both Control and Death Stranding from Kojima Productions were down for 11 awards at the show. That The Last of Us Part 2 is wildly acclaimed is no secret; when it launched it was met with overwhelming praise from critics and has won more game of the year awards than any other release yet.

Meanwhile, fellow Sony exclusive Ghost of Tsushima is listed in 10 categories, while Supergiant's Hades is up for eight awards. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales has been nominated for seven prizes, while Media Molecule's Dreams is up for six categories.

Fall Guys and Animal Crossing: New Horizons - two games that will have helped a lot of people through the lockdowns of 2020 - are down for five categories each, while Cyberpunk 2077, Half-Life: Alyx and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are nominated for four categories.

You can see the full list of nominees here. All but one of the show's 17 categories are decided by panels of judges, while the EE Game of the Year Award is decided by a consumer vote. You can check out which games are up for this award - and vote - here.
