Kinect: Scanning being saved for later, says Kudo

kinect scanning

Microsoft's Kudo Tsunoda's confirmed to Eurogamer that Kinect's object scanning feature for won't be available at launch.

Instead, he admitted it will be coming after the motion camera launches in November.

"Being able to digitise real-world objects and take them into the virtual world - we saw a little bit of that at E3 last year, but it's not stuff that we have in any of the launch games right now, and I think we're going to see a lot more games start using that as well as we go forward," he said.

The feature was first shown in a B-roll video when the tech was first shown at E3 last, showing a teenager scanning a skateboard into a skating game.

Kinect launches on November 10 in the UK.
