While we wait on a new Red Dead game, Rockstar's parent company has trademarked something called Judas.
Judas game trademark filed by Rockstar parent company Take-Two
Of course, the most famous Judas Iscariot in history was one of the 12 Disciples. According to the bible, he betrayed Jesus for 30 silver pieces. It is rather unlikely Rockstar would be developing a game based on a story from the bible, though.
T2 has other developers under its umbrella, and the trademark doesn't mention a studio.
Since the death of the Nazarian 2,016 years ago, Judas has been a term used for false friends, or backstabbers if you will. So the game could be about a betrayer of sorts. Who knows at this point.
Rockstar's parent company Take-Two reiterated in February it has new IP and a “number of unannounced” titles in the works. The company will host a call to investors on May 18, so maybe company CEO Strauss Zelnick will shock us all by mentioning what this new game is in passing.
More likely, Take-Two will hold out for E3 2016. Zelnick said the firm would "be there in a big way."
