JAW boss debunks June release for Strange's Wrath Vita

Despite claims to the contrary, Just Add Water boss Stewart Gilray has said the Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath isn't down for a June release

The latest PS Blogcast had press, us included, noting a June release for the handheld version.

Gilray's clarified to VG247 it's now looking to finish up development in June rather than releasing it around then, ahead of a QA submission to Sony.

On the podcast, he also noted how development kicked off.

"We started work on [the Vita version of Stranger’s Wrath] about five and a half weeks ago," he said.

"The guy who’s doing it had actually never touched a Vita before — he just plugged it in and read the documentation. He probably spent half a week reading the documentation and then the next week he already had the code running.

"He was surprised how quickly he managed to get things going."

JAW launched the PS3 version of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath last year, with Gilray also saying the Move and stereoscopic 3D support for the game is currently in QA and is expected to launch come the end of the month.

For the HD version of Munich's Oddysee that's currently in development, four weeks of QA is next on the agenda for the title.
