Japanese queue for 3DS pre-orders after shortage warning

Following reports that Japan will have only 400,000 3DS units at launch on February 26, instead of the promised 1.5 million, Japanese punters are taking to the streets to ensure they have a unit day one.
According to Hachimaki, between 200-300 people were queueing in Akihabra to make sure they got their names down for a 3DS.
Pre-orders for the handheld opened today, January 20.
One retailer had recommending this week that Japanese gamers act immediately when pre-orders opened.
The Japanese 3DS launches on February 26.
Nintendo said at events in New York and Amsterdam yesterday that 3DS would launch on March 25 and March 27 in Europe and the US respectively.
