Jagged Alliance returns with Jagged Alliance: Rage
Jagged Alliance: Rage is the first original game in the classic series in years.
Jagged Alliance: Rage was announced today by THQ Nordic and HandyGames, an indie-focused publisher that's part of THQ Nordic's vast network. Rage is a new game in the series, starring some of the classic characters of the original.
This is important because our heroes, which include Ivan Dolvich, Helmut "Grunty" Grunther, Kyle "Shadow" Simmons and others, have gotten very old since we last met them 20 years ago. Their weak knees, poor eyesight and general fatigue will be reflected in the game's combat.
This is still a turn-based strategy set on island in which your quest is to take down some mad tyrant. Each of our heroes now has their own Rage skill, one of a couple of new features. These are unique abilities that get more powerful over time.
The original Jagged Alliance featured unique personalities for each of its heroes, and some even worked better with certain members and worse with others. It was an interesting management layer, and Rage is bringing it back.
Jagged Alliance: Rage's campaign supports up to two players in co-op, and it's in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It's due out this fall.
