Irrational shows off Dungeon Duel, its cancelled RTS

Irrational has detailed and released shots of a cancelled RTS it had in the works called Dungeon Duel.

The game was in the works before the team started on the first BioShock, and was in development back in 2002.

"Dungeon Duel combines fast-paced RTS strategy with the addictiveness of card game trading in a unique fantasy setting - a true RTS game built specifically with consoles and their controllers in mind," was the pitch.

Two main single player modes were planned, and you could explore, loot, and slash at enemies. In Duel, you fought another opponent in real time. As you leveled up in the game you earned more cards and could trade them with other online players.

Capture the Flag, Last Man Standing, Dungeon Ball, King Killer and Treasure Hunter were the five online modes planned.

Check out Irrational to have a look at it and get more details on the game you will never play.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
