Nintendo pulls Ironfall: Invasion from eShop ahead of Ironhax exploit release

Nintendo has removed the free-to-play game Ironfall: Invasion from the eShop due to the Ironhax exploit.

Users who downloaded Ironhax along with Ironfall could use the game as a homebrew exploit to unlock region specific titles to play on thier 3DS.

Ironhax was set to launch this week by its creator Jordan "Smealum" Rabet, but Nintendo has pulled the game until the backdoor in it is closed.

When Smealum found out the Ironfall had been pulled, he apologized to the game's developer, VDev.

VDev said since the exploit was made known, the game had been downloaded "several hundred thousand times" from the eShop marketplace.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
