IO planning "very, very interesting" online feature with Hitman Absolution

IO Interactive producer Hakan Abrak has teased the studio is doing something "very interesting" in regards to online and Hitman Absolution.

Speaking to Eurogamer at the EG Expo, Abrak wouldn't be specific other than it wouldn't affect 47's story.

"I want to say we do have something very, very interesting coming up in Hitman: Absolution on the online side," said Abrak. "We're not ready to talk about it right now. Hitman is an assassin who works alone, but you never know in what form or in what way we could give you an online experience.

"It's unfortunately not something I can talk about right now, but I can say, in the story part, Agent 47 definitely works alone."

The Hitman series has, so far to date, remained single-player only, and has not had multiplayer included in any of the past games since it began in 2000.

Hitman Absolution launches next year for PS3, 360 and PC. We'll have our community interview with Abrak from EGE live on the site next week.
