Injustice: Gods Among Us - DC impressively "cooperative", says Boon

DC is giving NetherRealm Studios plenty of freedom on Injustice: Gods Among Us, studio head Ed Boon has said.

Speaking with IGN, Boon said the publisher has been quite trusting with its properties.

“I’ve been very impressed with how cooperative they’ve been. I think that they just basically realise that if you give that freedom that you’re gonna get a game that will be a better game," he said.

Boon made an interesting comparison with another recent DC superhero game which gave the development team plenty of breathing room.

“Giving the Rocksteady guys that kind of freedom with Arkham City produced Arkham City," he noted.

"And I think Arkham City is probably considered the greatest superhero game ever made. I don’t think they would’ve gotten that if they’d put the clamps on them and not let them try new stuff with that game.”

Injustice: Gods Among Us is due in April 2013 on PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360. The latest revealed roster entires are Green Arrow and (almost certainly) the Joker.
