Iceborne is Monster Hunter World's only expansion

Iceborne is Monster Hunter World's big upcoming expansion, and it's going to be the game's last.

Monster Hunter World developers at Capcom view Iceborne as the piece that completes the story and world of the game, which is why it's going to be World's only expansion.

Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed this to Game Informer, revealing a couple of other interesting details in the process. About half of the Iceborne story will take place in the new Hoarfrost Reach region, whereas the other half takes place in the existing regions.

Tsujimoto also confirmed what many already suspected; Iceborne's new Master rank is essentially G rank from the classic games. Looking a bit ahead to the future, Capcom plans to support Iceborne with regular updates in the same way it has with the base game.
