I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream is one of the great classics of horror adventure gaming, and if you pick it up on Steam, you can now enjoy the story that inspired it, too.

According to a Steam announcement, the latest patch added the original short story by Harlan Ellison to the 'Bonus Content' folder of installs of the game.

This re-release is available on Linux, Mac and PC for $5, and you can also grab it on GOG, where it's $6 for some reason; maybe because I'm viewing the page from Australia.

I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream was first released in 1995 and still carries a content warning for disturbing themes. Yeah. It's that good.
