HTC has announced that it has increased the price of the Vive VR headset in the UK. The company cited "recent currency valuation changes" and the current value of the GBP as reasons for the hike.

The announcement blog post doesn't mention Brexit directly as the culprit here, but it's well known that the value of the pound took a hit following the result of the Brexit referendum.

The new price for the kit is £759 plus P&P, a £70 increase from the original price of £689. This change is effective starting today, August 1.

Oculus Rift has not revealed a similar change, and remains available for £499, not including shipping.
