How Heroes of the Storm's new healer manages without mana

The latest Heroes of the Storm character has some unusual properties.

Heroes of the Storm players will soon be able to select Diablo 3's Auriel, an unusual healer.

Here's Blizzard's description of the character:

"Auriel is the newest, fearless Support Hero to enter the Nexus. Seeking harmony in all things, she is a mediator, a counselor, and when the need arises, a fearless warrior. Fighting side-by-side with her allies, Auriel uniquely gains energy from assisting in battle, transforming all energy gained into healing."

A ranged support character, Auriel unique trait, Bestow Hope, means she heals using energy generated by attacks - not by drawing on a mana pool. She can cast bestow Hope on an ally to gain healing energy from their attacks, too.

With Ray of Heaven, Auriel can use up all her stored energy at once to heal all allies in the area. She also has a similar move that uses stored energy not to heal but to damage enemies. But that's just the start of her abilities, as you'll see in the video above; she can also provide various buffs and even revive fallen allies.

I wonder how this new support type will affect the Heroes of the Storm meta? It's cool that Blizzard is still coming up with new ideas.
