House: Sony now in "hyper vigilance" stance following PSN attack

SCEE CEO Andy House has said that Sony has take a "hyper vigilance" approach following the external attack that brought down PlayStation Network for nearly a month.

"The first thing I'd like to say to people is that we are genuinely humbled and extremely grateful to those consumers who have continued to put their trust in us," House said at E3 in a CVG-published interview.

"That's a responsibility we now take even more seriously than we did before. We'll try our absolute best to try and make our system as secure as we possibly can."

He added that the attack had "taught Sony - and many other companies - that you have to adopt a stance of hyper vigilance," but admitted that it still had a "long way to go to restore consumers' faith in the system."

PSN was brought down in April due to an external intrusion which seen millions of users personal data compromised.
