Homeworld, Homeworld 2 getting HD remakes - Gearbox

Homeworld and Homeworld 2 will be getting HD remakes courtesy of Gearbox Software, the firm announced during its panel at PAX Australia.

Gearbox purchased the real-time strategy IP for $1.35 million in April during a smaller bankruptcy sale for THQ properties.

After it acquired the IP, Gearbox confirmed at the time it planned to re-release both Homeworld and Homeworld 2 on digital platforms

The Relic Entertainment developed Homeworld titles were first released on PC in 1999 and 2003, respectively.

Gearbox plans to make the HD remakes of Homeworld and Homeworld 2 available through digital distribution, as noted above.
