Hitman developer working on "unannounced AAA game project"

Hitman and Kane & Lynch developer IO Interactive is hiring for a new triple-A game.

According to several job ads posted on the Danish company's recruiting hub, IO is working on "an unannounced AAA game project".

The advertised positions are Art Director, Cinematic Animator, Concept Artist, Environment Artist and Level Designer.

IO Interactive's last project was Hitman: Absolution. Publisher Square Enix had big plans to take the franchise multi-studio, freeing IO for other projects, but the most recent stealth action effort did not meet its sales expectations, and IO is now believed to be focused on the next entry in the series.

Square Enix Montreal, which had initially been expected to produce the next Hitman game and even whipped up some concept art, is now working on mobile titles.

Thanks, Julie.
