That's according to the recommended and minimum spec requirements posted on the Steam page for Resident Evil 7. The game isn't out until early next year, so if the information listed below changes, we'll be sure to provide an update.

Minimum

  • OS: Windows 7,8,8.1,10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460, 2.70GHz or AMD FX-6300 or better
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x
  • DirectX: Version 11

Additional Notes: 1080P CPU/GPU at 30FPS Players will have to either lower texture or set streaming textures to OFF in order to optimize performance.

Recommended

  • OS: Windows 7,8,8.1,10 64-BIT
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz or AMD or better
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 280X or better
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Additional Notes: 1080P CPU/GPU at 60FPS

In the game, players will assume the role of a character named Ethan who is wandering around a mansion searching for his missing wife. Whether we will stay in this derelict building the entire time is unknown.

Surely we will be able to walk around the grounds. Grab a chainsaw out of a shed, find some herbs in a weed infested garden, etc. Maybe an old, spooky family plot is even out back. I'm just guessing. And hoping, I suppose. I've probably watched too many horror movies, so moving on.

Resident Evil 7 will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One January 24. The game will support PS4 Pro along with PS VR at release.
