Hearthstone datamine suggests Blackrock Mountain expansion on the way

Hearthstone's next update may be based on World of Warcraft's Molten Core raid, if datamined information posted on Hearthpwn is spot-on.

According to files mined from the latest patch, three new cosmetic card backs are on the way, one of which is called Molten Core. The data suggests that pre-ordering the Blackrock Mountain expansion will reward players with a Molten Core card back. This is what was gathered from the term "purchase brm presale" string included in the data.

Another card back listed was Ragnaros, who is the final boss in Molten Core. Since Ragnaros is already a Legendary card in Hearthstone, it's suggested he will be a decorative theme reward for the next Ranked play session.

Golden Celebration was also noted as a "golden celebration cardback" which could pertain to reaching Gold rank or creating a deck consisting only of Golden cards. There are plenty of possibilities on that one.

At this point, it's all speculation, but Blizzard may reveal more during PAX East.

Blizzard will be hosting sessions for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Heroes of the Storm .

The multi-game panel promises a reveal of "exciting new cards" which are to be detailed by Hearthstone’s director Eric Dodds.

Those attending PAX East should head over to the Albatross Theatre on Friday, March 6. The session starts at 10:30am EST.
