Halo movie: Ridley Scott rumours killed by Microsoft

Halo was said to be getting the movie treatment, courtesy of Alien director Ridley Scott, but Microsoft has blown that rumour out the airlock.

We reported on the Halo movie rumour yesterday. Hit the link to see what happened.

Now, Microsoft has clarified the matter in a statement to Eurogamer, which reads, "We plan to continue telling the Halo story through innovative channels, but there are no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time.

"The Halo franchise encompasses many elements, including games, action figures, novels and more. As always, we have many projects in the works that offer us the opportunity to bring in new audiences to the franchise, as we did in the past with Halo Legends and Halo: Forward Unto Dawn."

There's also the little matter of Spielberg's Xbox One Halo TV series.
