Halo's Zanzibar map sure has changed over the years

Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes a remastered version of the classic Halo 2 map Zanzibar. See just how these map has evolved over the years in these side-by-side comparison images.

Halo's Zanzibar map originally appeared in Halo 2 on Xbox, but was rejigged for 2007's Halo 3 for Xbox 360 as Last Resort.

Zanzibar is now making its Xbox One debut in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and boy does it look pretty. You definitely want to open the image below in a new tab, and then zoom to blow up to full size, so you can admire the details.

The images were sourced from the GamingbyGamers YouTube channel and put together by reddit user JJAB91.

As you'll see, the general shape and layout of assets hasn't been altered too much, so what made the map great - its flow and tactical possibilities - hasn't changed. But 343 Industries has done a great job updating the graphics.
