Halo's universe is set to expand thanks to some sort of production from Alien and Blade Runner director Ridley Scott.
According to Microsoft, the "digital feature project" comes courtesy of 343 Industries, Xbox Entertainment Studios and Scott Free Productions.
Scott Free TV president David Zucker will executive produce in tandem with Scott, and direction comes courtesy of Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, who worked on Battlestar Galactica and Heroes.
The news follows rumours of a full-blown Halo movie directed by Scott, which seems to have been untrue.
In a statement issued to GameInformer, Microsoft said it has nothing further to share but will give more information at E3 2014 in June.
This feature is a separate endeavour to Steven Spielberg's live action series, the platform holder said.
