Halo 4 brings back Double XP Doritos, Mountain Dew promotion

Halo 4 headstarts are available to US players who hand over cash to Pepsi Co.

Mountain Dew and Doritos are both back on board the Double XP train this year, but in addition to granting you a boost over the competition in terms of growth, both promotions will offer players the chance to customise their gear ahead of Halo 4's launch.

To take advantage of the promotion you'll need to register at DEWXP or DORITOSXP. From October 15, you'll be able to enter codes taken from specially marked packages from either product range, which will unlock double XP matches. Once the game launches, you'll be able to push matches out to your gamertag.

Purchases of both products together at WalMart will increase your payout, and 7-11's will also support the scheme with bonuses through a King of the HIll app.

Mountain Dew Game Fuel - a citrus cherry flavour - is also back, having last been seen at Halo 3's launch in 2007.

Halo 4 releases exclusively for Xbox 360 on November 6. Never leave the house after that; just stay home eating chips and drinking soda until they come to haul you away with a crane.

Thanks, Joystiq.
