GungHo Entertainment projects $1.2 billion revenue for year 

GungHo Entertainment has posted its 12-month financial projection, flagging expected revenue of $1.2 billion.

Perhaps best known for its Puzzle & Dragons series, GungHo Entertainment is expected to post big financial results at the end of this fiscal year. That's the projection of CEO Kazuki Morishita, who recently shared his expectations and insight with CNN Fortune.

During the piece, it was noted that the Puzzle & Dragons series now enjoys over 20 million users, and that he firm has seen over $700 million in profit on revenues of over $1.2 billion for the current financial year. Fortune adds that GungHo's stock spiked 775% in 2013.

During the interview, Morishita stressed, "I genuinely enjoy entertaining people -- I get a thrill out of it. Game companies should entertain their fans and users. It can never just be about the business-to-business aspects of the industry."

Later, he added that GungHo has some ten new games in development, while 3DS sequel Puzzle & Dragons Z has sold over 800,000 copies in Japan.
