Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has predicted in an investor call tonight that 3D hardware sales will be slow in the next 12 months but will start to fly in the back half of 2011.
"But it will be very strong next year, at the end of next year, which means... November, December next year will normally be the time when we will start to see very good sales on those products."
Guillemot added that "the goal is to make sure most of our high end games will use the 3D."
CFO Alain Martinez chipped in that 3D in games like the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, scheduled for release in Q1 2011, makes them a "bit special".
Ubisoft UK said last week that it expected 3D to be a fully mainstream tech within three years.
