Guacamelee 2 hits PC and PS4 in August

Guacamelee 2 has resurfaced with a surprisingly close release date.

Guacamelee 2, the sequel to one of the best metroidvania side scrolling action platformers, was first announced back in October.

After a period of relative quietness, developer Drinkbox Studios has returned to announce an August 21 release date for both PC, and PS4. The original game's main hero, Juan Aguacate, returns to once again save the worlds of the living and dead.

Juan is bolstered with a host of new special moves this time around, along with a new upgrade system that builds on the trainers concept from the first game. Like its predecessor, Guacamelee 2 promises dense, rich levels full of optional content and secrets.

Guacamelee 2 is priced $20, and supports up to four players in local co-op. You can pre-order it today through the PlayStation Store where it's currently 20% off for Plus members, and wishlist it on Steam.
