GTA5.com domain being pursued by publisher Take-Two

Grand Theft Auto 5 publisher Take-Two is looking to claim the domain name 'GTAV.com' from its current registered user in Spain.

Fusible reports that the company has been pursuing the closure of fake GTA5 beta sites by lodging complaints with the World Intellectual Property Organisation. The site adds that Take-Two has filed over 24 complaints in 2013 and that it has successfully won all of them.

Take-Two is now looking to acquire GTAV.com which, according to WHOIS, is registered in Spain.

The company's filed complaint can be found on the World Intellectual Property Organisation's site here and shows that it is indeed looking to claim the address.

Fusible adds that while GTAV.com currently redirects to the Rockstar Games GTA V feed, it originally housed a fan blog for the game full of news and other snippets on the game. They've got an image of the old site here.

GTA 5 hits PS3 and Xbox 360 worldwide on September 17.
