New GTA Online Freemode Events out next week alongside Rockstar Editor

Rockstar has announced Freemode Events are coming to GTA Online next week along with the PS4 and Xbox One release of the Rockstar Editor.

Watch on YouTube

Freemode Events will occur every 12 minutes in the open world without the need for a lobby, and each are a mix of freeform and structured events. The HUD will denote when an event will occur, and if the player decides not to participate, they can still watch other players in the session.

And yes, you will earn GTA$ and RP rewards for participating in the events.

Sessions can be customized to decide "exactly which ones will happen" and there will be hundreds of variations on each Freemode Event, with stunt challenges as one example.

Also included with next week's update are two brand new Adversary Modes:

Hunting Pack: you’re part of a team tasked to deliver a priority vehicle rigged to explode if it drops below a minimum speed, while your opponents race, ram and batter to take it down.

Cross the Line: Heavily-armed squads face off across a neutral zone – with the goal of having all team members strategically penetrate their opponents territory to claim victory.

The Freemode Events Update also brings the Rockstar Editor to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with new features which will also be added for current PC users. The new features include ambient audio and sound effects library, Snapmatic integration, Director Mode updates and more.

GTA Online's Freemode Events update and the Rockstar Editor release on PS4 and Xbox One are both out September 15.
